初雪の恋 [Hatsuyuki no Koi] {Virgin Snow}

February 10, 2008

(Assuming any movie I put up here I like and recommend, I’d give it a 6/10 where anything above a 0 is good.)

This movie attempts to break the barrier between Korean and Japanese barriers with an all star cast of Lee JunKi and Aoi Miyazaki. There is a love story between two people who do not even understand each others’ language. The theme of language serves as an important theme outlining each others’ desire to learn more about each other.
The story follows along as many other asian love stories. It tries to touch upon what viewers expect from a sweet love story without bringing much originality into it. Overall I thought it was effective, but needed a stronger push. Of course no movie could be perfect! So if you watch it for what it is ~ another love story ~ I am sure you’ll be delighted. Aoi Miyazaki’s smile makes me happy.

神童 [Shindô] {Prodigy}

Personally a 8/10, but only for this reason:
~my little prose on it
I Loved Shindô. More than my words can express. The storyline flowed melodiously transforming my reality into theirs. All I can think about is the sound of a piano; that is all I want to hear and nothing else. It is as if I had been missing something and I am trying to find it again. And where is this melody? It is off somewhere, unreachable, far beyond the physical and mental abilities of myself. I must be perfect, I accept nothing else. But perfection has its costs…that is so unfair.

I love piano movies with a passion no matter what faults the movie may have. They incite a certain false reality where I flow upon a lake absorbing the melody and emotions felt. I move along the ~score ~of~ notes~. I personally rate this as one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it as well. Thanks to Reika no Rakuen for introducing me to this Japanese movie. Also, I enjoyed “Secret I Cannot Tell” as well. In the movie is Matsuyama Kenichi [L in Death Note] and Narumi Riko [1 Litre of Tears drama].
You can watch it streaming on aznVtv or CrunchyRoll.
